Therapist

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my website. I welcome your curiosity about me, my therapy practice, and how you might benefit from therapy. I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with individual adults, couples, and adult family pairs.

About My Practice

I am trained to hear you in a way that is different from your family and friends. Speaking with someone who can listen in a new way can help you gain insight into your life and present-day problems. As we gain deeper understanding into recurring problems that cause distress, you can begin to shift those patterns.

My approach is dynamic, collaborative, empathetic, and nonjudgemental. I use techniques from both
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for temporary symptom relief and modern psychoanalytic psychotherapy (aka psychodynamic) for exploring the roots of your symptoms with the aim of providing long-lasting, meaningful change. For couple and relationship therapy, I draw on my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Developmental Model to help clients improve communication and connection.

If we meet in person, my office is located just a mile from downtown San Mateo, with easy access and parking for folks coming from peninsula cities from Burlingame and San Bruno to Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, and Menlo Park. My office provides a safe and confidential space, where we work together toward your goal of feeling better about your self and your relationships.

I help people with:

  • Trauma/Complex Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Life transitions/disruptions

  • Grief and Loss

  • Binge eating/Emotional eating

  • Alcohol or drug use

     . . . and more.

Please take some time to explore my website to learn more about what I offer and my approach to therapy.
